Footnotes
- a Walther-Peer Fellgiebel, author of Die Träger des Ritterkreuzes des Eisernen Kreuzes 1939-1945, lists him as a recipient with a presentation date of 9 May 1945. Fellgiebel also indicates that Jäckel's paybook states a presentation date of 1 June 1945, after the Dönitz-decree prohibited the awarding of the Knight's Cross. Thus making him a de facto but not de jure recipient.[4] Authors Rainer Busch and Hans-Joachim Röll list him as a 9 May 1945 recipient indicating that the paybook states a 1 June 1945 presentation date.[1]
