The 1995 Copa América Final was the final match of the 1995 Copa América. It was held on July 23, 1995 in Montevideo. This was the fourth final for Uruguay. Meanwhile, Brazil World Champions a year ago made a fourth final appearance. It also was the third final between Brazil and Uruguay. Uruguay won in 1983 and Brazil won in 1989 at the Estádio do Maracanã in revenge after the 1950 FIFA World Cup final match known as the Maracanazo. Uruguay won the match 5–3 on penalties. Uruguay made history by winning every international tournament held in Uruguay which was the 1917, 1923, 1924, 1942, 1956, 1967 South American Championships and the 1930 FIFA World Cup. Uruguay entered the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup as a result of winning the Copa América.
