Syed A. B. Mahmud Hossain (1916 – 2 August 1981)[1] was a Bangladeshi lawyer and jurist who served as the 2nd Chief Justice of Bangladesh.[2]
Early life and education
In 1916, Syed A.B. Mahmud Hossain was born in an aristocratic landowner of Laskarpur Union in Habiganj district of British India. His father name was Syed Abdul motakabbira Abul Hossain.
Career
In the context of retirement of Justice Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem, the honorable President of Bangladesh appointed Syed A. B. Mahmud Hossain as Chief Justice and on 18 November 1975, he took the oath as Chief Justice. On 31 January 1978, he retired from the post.
Death
Mahmud died on 2 August 1982 at Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh.[3][4]
