Stanley High School is a high school for students aged 11 to 16 in the resort town of Southport, Merseyside in North West England. It became a designated specialist Sports College in 2003, but in 2012 it was renamed Stanley High School to celebrate the school's 60th anniversary.

Academic success

The school's examination performance has led to it receiving a School Achievement Award for three years in succession. In 2006, 73% of Year 11 students achieved the benchmark standard of five good GCSE results, up from 68% in 2005. This performance places the school in the top 20% of English schools for value added between ages 11 and 16, and the top 10% between ages 14 and 16. Source: DfES.

In June 2006 Stanley was graded outstanding for its performance in Art and Design. The last full inspection was in 2014 when the school was judged as "Requires Improvement" .[1]
