San Bartolomé de Pinares is a municipality located in the province of Ávila, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2011 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 627 inhabitants. It's only 20 km from Ávila and it has been for many years one of the most important villages in the province because of the huge amount of cows and bulls.
Today we can appreciate an incredible church named as St. Bartholomew's (San Bartolomé Apóstol). This church has the same style than the Royal Seat of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the herreriano style.
In this municipality was born the teacher Juan Grande Martín (12/01/1914 - 13/11/1981).
