The A14 class steam locomotive was a 4-4-0 locomotive of the Queensland Railways (QR).[1]
The locomotives operated on 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) gauge. The “A”, is used to identify the number of coupled wheels, being four coupled wheels for the A14 class, followed by numerals indicating the cylinder diameter of fourteen inches (356 mm).
Eight engines were built by the Phoenix Engine Company, Ipswich, Queensland, between 1894 and 1895. All the engines were reboilered in 1909 and withdrawn between 1922 and 1929.
