Mogorović (nobility)
Mogorović (lat. Murithorum, Mogorouici, Mogorouich, Mogorouig, Mogorouikius, nobiles Mogorovichii) were the Croatian nobility (clan) whose members are first mentioned in 12th and 13th centuries in Biograd na Moru and the Zadar hinterland. From there they moved to Lika county after the Mongol invasions of Europe, where they branched into the Tolimirović and Disislavić noble families. They are also mentioned in the document Pacta conventa, which is dated 1102, and whose authenticity is debated. In the 14th century, they formed a part of an institution called the "nobility of the twelve tribes of the Croatian kingdom".[1]
