Michał Bogusław Bąkiewicz (born 22 March 1981) is a former Polish volleyball player, a member of Poland men's national volleyball team in 2001-2011, a participant in the Olympic Games Athens 2004, European Champion 2009, silver medalist of the World Championship 2006, bronze medalist of the World League 2011, a four-time Polish Champion, and head coach of Polish club AZS Częstochowa.

Career

Clubs

After six season in PGE Skra Bełchatów he moved to AZS Częstochowa.[1] In 2014 he ended his career, contract between club AZS Częstochowa and the player has been resolved amicably. In 2014 he came back to play in AZS Częstochowa. In season 2014/2015 didn't play in any match of AZS Częstochowa. On December 3, 2014 he ended his sporting career. He has a coaching license and joined to the coaching staff of AZS Częstochowa.[2]

National team

Bąkiewicz was a member of the national Polish team that won the silver medal in the World Championship 2006. He won a title of the European Champion 2009.[3] On September 14, 2009 he was awarded Knight's Cross of Polonia Restituta.[4] In 2011 won a first in history medal for Poland of World League after winning match with Argentina.[5]
