Landrecies is a commune in the Nord department in northern France.
It is the site of a skirmish between the British I Corps under Douglas Haig and the German First Army on 25 August 1914.

The arms of Landrecies are blazoned : Azure, a triple towered castle open Or, on a base 3 medals on the colours of their respective ribbons 1: Croix de Guerre 1914-1918; 2: a Légion d'honneur; and 3: a Croix de Guerre 1939-1945 |
People
Landrecies is the hometown of former Tour de France director Jean-Marie Leblanc.
It is the birthplace of Joseph Francois Dupleix, well known as the conqueror of India for the King Louix IV, king of France.
