Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Kurt Kühme (3 October 1910 – 18 April 1978) was a German officer (Major) in the Wehrmacht. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, awarded by Nazi Germany to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

Kühme surrendered to the Red Army in May 1945 in the Courland Pocket. Convicted as a war criminal in the Soviet Union, he was held until 1955 and in 1956 he joined the Bundeswehr, retiring in 1967 as an Oberstleutnant.
