Club career

Born in Campillo de Arenas, Jaén, Andalusia,[1] Sánchez graduated from Real Jaén's youth setup, and made his senior debuts with the reserves in the 2009–10 campaign. He was promoted to the main squad in 2010, appearing regularly for the side in Segunda División B.

On 14 July 2011 Sánchez signed a three-year deal with Atlético Madrid, being assigned to the reserves also in the third level.[2] In July 2012, he was called up by manager Diego Simeone to make the pre-season with the main squad,[3] and was an ever-present figure for the B's in 2013–14, as the Colchoneros narrowly avoided relegation.

On 13 June 2014 Sánchez joined another reserve team, UD Almería B in the same division, after agreeing to a three-year contract.[4] On 5 December he made his first team debut, starting in a 4–3 away win against Real Betis, for the season's Copa del Rey.[5]

On 14 June 2015, after scoring 11 goals for the B-side, Sánchez was definitely promoted to the main squad now in Segunda División.[6] He made his debut in the category on 6 September, coming on as a second-half substitute for Quique González in a 2–1 home win against CA Osasuna.[7]
