List of county routes in Genesee County, New York (1–10)

County routes in Genesee County, New York, are not posted on route markers. However, the number is given, along with house numbers, often on intersection blade signs. There is no apparent numbering pattern. County routes generally comprise one or more named roads, or portions thereof, strung together to form a single continuous unit. These usually extend for some distance, connecting primary highways in two or more towns. The majority of the county's roads are assigned to the towns. Nowhere does any county route wholly enter either a village or the city of Batavia. Routes 1 through 10 are listed below.

County Route 1

County Route 1 is a north–south route that runs through the towns of Alexander, Bethany and Batavia. For almost its entire length, CR 1 roughly parallels NY 98, which runs to the west of CR 1. The route begins at NY 98 in the town of Alexander. At 0.71 miles CR 1 (named Stroh Road) intersects Spring Road. CR 1 continues north from here as Sandpit Road until reaching US 20. Here, CR 1 changes names to Brookville Road and the roadway winds to the northeast. In the hamlet of East Alexander, CR 1 intersects West Bethany Road. CR 1 turns north at this point and again changes names, this time assuming the name Creek Road. The route heads north into the town of Batavia, where it ends at the Batavia city line.

County Route 2

County Route 2 is an east–west route in the towns of Bethany, Pavilion, Stafford, and Le Roy. Named East Bethany–LeRoy Road, CR 2 begins at NY 63 in the hamlet of East Bethany. From its west end, CR 2 heads in a generally east then northeast direction intersecting local roadways. As it nears its end, CR 2 turns north at the Gilbert Street intersection, staying just outside the village of Le Roy. CR 2 ends at NY 5 (West Main Street) just west of the Le Roy town and village line.

County Route 2A

County Route 2A is an east–west route in the town of Le Roy. The route is a spur from CR 2, its parent to the border of the Le Roy village, where it continues as Munson Street, a village-maintained road.

County Route 3

County Route 3 is a north–south route in the towns of Pavilion and Le Roy named South Street Road. CR 3 begins at the Wyoming County line, just over one-mile north of the roadway's southern terminus at NY 63 in Wyoming County. CR 3 heads north, intersecting US 20 (Broadway) in the town of Pavilion. The road continues north, intersecting local roads until it reaches the Le Roy village line, where the county route designation ends. The roadway itself continues north through the village as South Street to NY 5 (East Main Street).

County Route 4

County Route 4 is a generally north–south route; however, it runs east–west towards its north end and then briefly runs backwards for a short distance. The route begins at US 20 (Broadway) in the town of Darien named Harlow Road. The route heads due north, passing west of Darien Lakes State Park. At 1.54 miles, Sumner Road (CR 21) is intersected, and CR 4's name changes to Fargo Road as it continues north. At 3.71 miles, Genesee Street (NY 33) is intersected and CR 4 is briefly interrupted, as it continues north just west of here as Lake Road. The Lake Road designation continues with CR 4 north into the town of Pembroke until an intersection with NY 5. CR 4 continues north still, but now as Gabbey Road. CR 4 turns east at an intersection with Knapp and Marble roads before returning turns northward. It again turns east at an intersection with Wyman Road, which heads north and ends shortly at Akron Road (CR 11). Now CR 4 heads due east to an intersection with NY 77 just south of Indian Falls. CR 4 loses the name Gabbey Road and assumes the name Indian Falls Road after this intersection. From here CR 4 heads east and dips southeast toward the New York State Thruway (I-90) and passes under it, and not long after comes to an end at NY 5 (Main Road) just west of the hamlet of East Pembroke.

County Route 5

County Route 5 is a north–south route located in the towns of Alexander and Batavia. CR 5 begins at US 20 (Broadway) in Alexander and heads north as Gillate Road. At 1.29 miles, CR 5 turns east onto Walker Road for 0.78 miles, until it again turns, this time north onto Hickox Road. At 3.03 miles, CR 5 is intersected by Dodgeson Road (CR 21), which briefly splits CR 5, but the route resumes 0.27 miles west of there as Halstead Road. CR 5 continues heading north and into the town of Batavia, where just shortly thereafter it intersects Brown Road at which CR 5 loses its current name and picks up the name Wilkinson Road. As CR 5 continues north, it intersects NY 33 (Genesee Street) in the hamlet of West Batavia. After that intersection, CR 5 once again changes names as it heads north. It last designation is as Hartshorn Road for just over 1 mile, as CR 5 ends at NY 5 in the town of Batavia.

County Route 6

County Route 6 is a north to east route located in the town of Bergen. The route begins at the Bergen village line as a continuation of Swamp Road, which starts at an intersection with NY 19 (North Lake Avenue) within the village. It heads due west to an intersection with West Sweden Road, where CR 6 turns north to follow West Sweden Road to the Monroe County line. The highway continues into Monroe County as CR 240.

County Route 7

County Route 7 is an east–west route located in the towns of Elba and Byron. CR 7 begins its west end in the town of Elba at the Elba village line. Chapel Street begins at NY 98 within the village of Elba and heads 0.36 miles east to the village line where the roadway turns into Barrville Road, where the CR 7 designation begins. CR 7 continues east–northeast through the town of Elba, as Barrville Road, until it meets North Byron Road (CR 12). Here, CR 7 turns east and assumes the name North Byron Road. CR 7 heads due east for the rest of its routing, intersecting county and local roadways until it ends at NY 237 in the hamlet of Pumpkin Hill in the town of Byron.

County Route 8

County Route 8 is an east–west route named Randall Road that is located in the towns of Stafford and Le Roy. CR 8 begins at Morganville Road (CR 34) just north of the CR 34 and NY 237 intersection, near the hamlet of Morganville. CR 8 parallels NY 237 for a short distance to the north, until NY 237 is intersected. Past NY 237 (Byron–Holley Road), CR 8 continues heading east. CR 8A, a spur of CR 8 to NY 237 is intersected at 0.6 miles. Thereafter, CR 8 intersects other county and local roadways until it reaches its eastern end at NY 19 (Lake Road) in the town of Le Roy.

County Route 8A

County Route 8A is a very short north–south route. At only 0.23 miles in length, Richmond Road connects Randall Road (CR 8) with NY 237 (Byron–Holley Road). Its south end is at CR 8 and travels north to end at NY 237. The route lies entirely within the town of Stafford, located just northeast of the hamlet of Morganville.

County Route 9

County Route 9 is a north–south route named Albion Road that is located in the town of Oakfield. It begins at Lewiston Road (CR 22). It heads north, intersecting Lockport Road (CR 12). CR 9 continues north towards Orleans County, until it reaches the county line, and the CR 9 designation ends. The roadway continues north as CR 15.

County Route 10

County Route 10 is a west–east route named York Road that lies entirely within the town of Pavilion. It begins at NY 63 and travels east for 3.20 miles (5.15 km) until it reaches the Livingston County line, where the CR 10 designation ends and the roadway assumes the CR 35 designation and the name York Road West.
