Aiello del Friuli (Friulian: Daèl) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,229 and an area of 13.0 square kilometres (5.0 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Aiello del Friuli contains the frazione (subdivision) Joannis (Friulian Uanis).
Aiello del Friuli borders the following municipalities: Bagnaria Arsa, Campolongo al Torre, Cervignano del Friuli, Ruda, San Vito al Torre, Visco.
Joannis is the birthplace of Enzo Bearzot, former Italian football player and manager.
