The 2010–11 US Créteil-Lusitanos season is French semi-professional football club US Créteil-Lusitanos's 74th season of competitive football in France. Créteil will participate in the Championnat National, the third division of French football under the helm of new manager Hubert Velud who replaces Laurent Fournier after his failure to achieve promotion to Ligue 2. The club will also participate in the Coupe de France.
News
On 21 May 2010, it was announced that coach Laurent Fournier would be resigning from his position as Créteil manager following his failure to achieve promotion to Ligue 2.[1] On 25 May, following an extensive search for a replacement, Créteil announced that the club had signed former Togo national team coach Hubert Velud.[2] Velud has an extensive coaching career having managed clubs such as Paris FC, Cherbourg, Clermont Foot, and numerous others. He previously had a coaching stint at Créteil having managed the club during the 2005–06 season when the club was in Ligue 2.
On 27 May, recently promoted Ligue 2 club Troyes announced that the club had signed Créteil's prolific striker Mathieu Duhamel. Duhamel was the primary source of the club's attack during the 2009–10 season scoring 17 goals.
On 2 June, Créteil's financial and administrative accounts were reviewed by the DNCG. Following the review process, the organization praised the club for the performance and accuracy of their accounts. Créteil will now be allowed to recruit and sign players without restriction.[3]
On 4 June, Créteil announced that the following players would be released or not have their contracts renewed by the club: Farid Beziouen, Fadal Bouraoud, Nicolas Cousin, Alexis Lafon, David Papys M'Bodji, Johann Paul, Samuel Piètre, and Michel Rodriguez. All players will be eligible to sign with another club on 9 June, the official date for the opening of the summer transfer window.[4] On the same day, the club announced their first signing of the summer with midfielder Noui Laifa from neighbors UJA Alfortville of the Championnat de France amateur joining Créteil on a one-year deal with a club option for a second year.[5]
Four days later, the club announced the following players were retained based on their acceptance of a contract extension from the club: Helder Esteves, Richard Trivino, Boris Mahon de Monaghan, Sébastien Gondouin, Frédéric Bong, and Samir Abbar.[6]
On 10 June, the club announced that it had hired the services of Samir Amirèche to serve as a player recruiter and scout for the club. Amirèche previously spent nine seasons as a Créteil player and served in a stint as captain of the club.[7]
