In 1976–77 the Honduran Liga Nacional had two phases: the regular season that had 27 rounds and a final round, which consisted of a Cuadrangular and a Final. C.D. España won the regular season and C.D. Motagua won the Cuadrangular, and they both played for the title.[1]
