Xinhua Daily

Xinhua Daily (Chinese: 新华日报; Pinyin: Xīnhuá Rìbào) was the first public newspaper published in the People's Republic of China by the Communist Party of China. It is owned by the Jiangsu Committee of the Communist Party of China.

History

On November 1, 1938, it was established in Wuhan by revolutionaries such as Zhou Enlai. On February 28, 1947 the publication of the Xin Hua Daily was forbidden by Kuomintang. Later, on April 23, 1949 Xin Hua Daily began publication with official support.

The newspaper reports economic, social and political events in Jiangsu province. Currently, the total circulation is 470,000.
