History
World Singles Networks was founded in 2001 by Saïd Amin. The success of his first matchmaking site, IranianPersonals, lead him to form World Singles Networks. The company went on to launch subsequent niche dating services under this umbrella.[5] Since launching their second site in 2001, EligibleGreeks,[6] the company has grown to 20+ online dating services targeting multiple countries, languages and ethnicities around the world.[7]
In February 2004, IranianPersonals ran one of the first-ever Farsi speaking commercials on national television.[8] With a focus on reaching markets with a high Iranian-American population, the 30-second commercial celebrated Valentine's Day by airing its commercial in Southern California and the Washington DC area.[9]
The company later ran a national television campaign for ArabLounge during the 2010 airing of the Axis of Evil Comedy Show on Comedy Central. The ad, which was in Arabic and English, ran in Houston, Los Angeles, NYC, New Jersey, Dearborn and Chicago.[10] ArabLounge and IranianPersonals were early sponsors of the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, sponsoring their show as early as 2005.[11]
Philanthropy
In July, 2013, World Singles Networks announced the launch of its ‘iCare’ Initiative; an initiative intended to raise funds and awareness on behalf of charitable organizations and groups focusing especially on children’s issues.[12]
