William Shakespeare's Star Wars: Verily, a New Hope is a satirical novel written by Ian Doescher. It is a retelling of George Lucas's 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, but set to blank verse and written in the 16th-century style of William Shakespeare, containing many references to his plays. It was first published in July 2013, and followed by five sequels, each based on the Star Wars saga original and prequel trilogies: The Empire Striketh Back, The Jedi Doth Return, The Phantom of Menace, The Clone Army Attacketh, and The Tragedy of the Sith's Revenge.
