Price studied law at the Inner Temple, but found his way to Quebec in 1810 and served in the local militia during the War of 1812.[3]
Price took over a food supplier in 1815 and by 1820 formed the William Price Company as a produce shipping company and later into timber.[4]
His wife Jane Stewart gave birth to sons William Evan Price, David Edward Price and Evans John Price.
Price founded a Quebec-based timber firm William Price Company, that later would become Price Brothers Limited.
