William Mackinder
William Mackinder (28 April 1880 – 8 September 1930)[1] was a British Labour Party politician.
At the 1923 general election Mackinder was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shipley in the West Riding of Yorkshire,[2] winning the seat from the Liberal Party on his second attempt, after unsuccessfully contesting the seat in 1922.[2] He was re-elected in 1924 and 1929, and had held the seat for seven years when he died at the age of 50 in September 1930.[1] The resulting by-election for his seat was won by the Conservative Party candidate, James Lockwood.
