Wharton FinTech is the first student-led FinTech initiative, started at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2014 by MBA students Daniel McAuley and Steve Weiner. The organization, while started in the MBA program, has members from both the graduate and the undergraduate communities at the University of Pennsylvania. Wharton FinTech was named the tenth most influential brand in FinTech by Onalytica in 2015.
The primary objective of Wharton FinTech is to connect academics, innovators, investors, and other thought leaders within the FinTech industry to each other and to the ideas that are reinventing global financial services.
Research
Wharton FinTech works with academics, including those at the University of Pennsylvania, and industry practitioners to publish original research pertaining to financial technology and its impact on the finance industry. Public research includes:
