West Bridgford Football Club are a football club based in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, England. They are currently members of the East Midlands Counties League and play at the Regatta Way Sports Ground.
History
Founded in 1990 and now officially the largest amateur football club in Europe, West Bridgford Football Club has over 130 teams, ranging from training groups for youngsters through to the men's, veteran and including a thriving girls & ladies’ section. The clubs founding principle, which remains true to this day, is to provide football for as many local children as they can. This is why the club's grown to become so big and so popular with both players and supporters; and why their men’s & ladies teams still have many a player who has come through the age groups within the club. Rather than see the size of the club as a burden, the people of West Bridgford FC see it as something to celebrate – the more people that play this beautiful game, the better. They strive to find a place for all, and then nurture all their young players carefully so as they develop a lifelong love of the game. The club has many a team that has won League titles and cups, but just as important is the numerous sportsmanship awards the club has collected, and they are fully behind the FA’s Respect campaign. Their aim to win with style and lose with dignity, the slogan for their ‘mini colts’ section (which serves the youngest players in the club) is ‘enjoyment development respect’ – and they do not lose sight of those words as players get older.
West Bridgford FC are a long time FA Charter Standard club, and have just been awarded their prestigious Community Status.
In the 2015/16 season the men's section of West Bridgford FC was again a huge success; after finishing third in the Nottinghamshire Senior League.[1] and under the astute guidance of management team of Stuart Robinson & Chris Marks they achieved their fifth consecutive promotion, subsequently joining the step 6, East Midlands Counties Football League only five years after the men's section was officially formed..
