Eliud Mathu

Eliud Wambu Mathu (born 1910) the first African to sit on Kenya's Legislative Council and served from 1944-1957.[1]

He graduated from Alliance High School (Kenya) in 1926 and studied at Fort Hare College, South Africa (1932–34) and Balliol College, Oxford University (1939–40). He was the first African master at Alliance.[2]
