WVGS FM 91.9 ("91-9 The Buzz") is a Statesboro, Georgia college radio station that plays a diverse range of music, including rock, rap and hip-hop. It is owned and operated by the students of Georgia Southern University, and is involved in public service in the community, including a book drive and a smoke-out for cancer in early 2010.
In recent years, the station has gained more popularity because of the success of its talk shows, such as the John Turner Show, the Controversoul Report, the Entertainment Buzz, Miller Time in the Morning, and the Hangover Show. The Sports Department has also added to the station's publicity through its coverage of Georgia Southern Football, Baseball, and Softball. The Sports Department also boasts the award winning show The Big N' Nasty Buzz Blitz now known as The Kickoff Show.
Their original assigned frequency was 107.7 FM. They were also previously known as "The Voice of Georgia Southern."
