Vunikavikaloa

Vunikavikaloa is a settlement on the northern coasts of the Ra Province in Viti Levu, Fiji. It is also commonly known as Waimicia. It consists of a few schools and a hospitals, and sporting grounds.It is situated in the district of Nalawa.The Tui Nalawa is the district chief over this area.

Vunikavakaloa consists of the ancient tombs of Fijian cannibal chiefs, and pottery has been found at this time going back to 1000 BC.

Major exports are carpets, mangoes and potatoes.

It is home to 4 major schools- Ra High, Vunikavikloa Arya School,Nalawa Central School and Dobuilevu Muslim School. Vunikavikaloa Arya School was founded by the late Mr. and Mrs. Jai Karan who donated the original land on which the school was built. His son, late Mr. Shiu Kumar and Mrs. Kumar donated money to maintain the school and worked hard on the land for many years to raise the impetus in progression to educate the young children of Vunikavikaloa and also from surrounding areas whom were often underfunded by the government. The prominent religious couple have been deemed founders and reasons for education in the area, and their legacy is held in the most highest esteem.

The Nalawa Football Club, which is affiliated to the Fiji Football Association and plays in the second division of the Association, is based here.
