Visage Technologies AB is a private company that produces computer vision applications in the area of face, head tracking and eye tracking, and face animation.[1] The primary product of Visage Technologies is a multiplatform software development kit visageSDK.
About
Visage Technologies' main product is Visage SDK, a software development kit for face tracking, face detection, eye/gaze tracking and head tracking, along with face analysis, which comprises emotion estimation, gender estimation and age estimation. The SDK captures facial and head details, including eye movement and gaze tracking, and lip and tongue synchronization, and can be used in animation and entertainment industries, marketing, videogames, health industries, robotics, biometrics, automotive and industrial safety, and as assistive technologies.[2]
History
Visage Technologies AB was founded in Linköping, Sweden in 2002.[3] The founders of Visage Technologies were among the main contributors to the MPEG-4 Face and Body Animation International Standard.[4][5] Since Visage Technologies' founders have academic background, Visage Technologies promotes research collaboration with academic institutions, especially with Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb and University of Linköping.[6][7][8]
Credits
Visage Technologies AB is licensing facial tracking technology for industrial and academic clients. BMW uses visage|SDK for their automotive industry, since the product can be used for drowsiness detection and industrial safety. Samsung has developed a The Hunger Games: Mockingjay app, while Dynamo has developed a virtual makeup app for Oriflame. B-Reel used visage|SDK to create the Fight for Attention campaign for Skoda, and with Armani to create the Frames for Life campaign. Disney has used Visage Technologies' face tracking with the help of BETC marketing and advertising to create a promotional campaign for Ratatouille in Disneyland Paris. Applied Science Laboratories are using visage|SDK for eye-tracking advancements, analysis and research, while Hoyos Labs uses it to upgrade their security measures with liveness detection. Sandia National Laboratories is using FaceTrack in their research for developing essential science and technology solutions to resolve national security issues, and Engineered Arts is using it for advanced interaction with robots.[9]
Various academic institutions as well use visage|SDK to aid them in research, such as United States Naval Academy, Princeton University, Rutgers University, City College of New York, McGill University and many others[10] in the fields of face tracking and detection, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and other computer vision studies and applications.
