Virgile Barel (1889-1979) was a French Communist politician. He served as a member of the National Assembly from 1936 to 1940, from 1945 to 1951, from 1956 to 1958, and from 1967 to 1973.[1] The Boulevard Virgile Barel in the Saint Roch neighbourhood of Nice was named in his honour.[2]
