Vinod Raj is a Kannada film actor, who is widely recognized and illustrious for his dancing skills.[1] He has acted along with various major co-stars like Ambreesh, Arjun Sarja, Ramesh Arvind, Srinivas Murthy in his short film career and is choosy in selecting films, he also likes to experiment in his roles.[2]
He has recently depicted his singing skills through his latest album Bhaktanjali,[3] which is a Devotional Album. He has also sung some songs in his movies. He had once asserted that Michael Jackson as his inspiration for both singing and dancing. Agriculturist
Film career
Renowned Actor, Producer Dwarkish introduced him to the Film Industry. In his first two films, he acted under Dwarkish Chitra, and later he acted several movies in his home banner. His dances in Dance Raja Dance is popular in YouTube, which was also used in video game Grand Theft Auto:III. Apart from which, he even acted under various producers too.
Many artists of his time had moved on to other language films. Even Vinod Raj was called by K. Balachander to act in other language films. But, he had rejected the offer.[4]

Charitable works and philanthropy
He, along with his mother Dr.Leelavathi, has been involved in many charitable works. He was the only actor to donate for TV9 Kannada's Flood relief fund. He also joined Anna Hazare's movement supporting Jan Lokpal Bill against corruption. They have built a hospital near Nelamangala.
Controversy
During Rajkumar's funeral, he could not hide his emotions and said "I have spoken to him only thrice in my life. My mother wanted me to speak to him once before we went to Tirupati, to which I did not agree. Now, if I want to speak to him for the fourth time, I have to be born as his son in my next life also," said Vinod, rendering a song - ‘Elligo E Payana...’ from the Raj-starrer ‘Sipayi Ramu’ and throwing mud as a symbol of interring.[5] The mother and son had tonsured their head one day before Rajkumar's death.[6]
