Udawalawe
Udawalawe is a small town located in the southern part of the Ratnapura District in Sri Lanka. It is situated in close to the district's boundary with the Hambantota District and Monaragala District. Udawalawa is also called Udawalawe.
The town is the main entry points to the Udawalawe National Park which is a major National Park in Sri Lanka which is renowned for its high population of wild Asian elephants. This national park is the closest national park to colombo. It's situated 160 km away from capital city.
Also the town is famous, because of the Uda Walawa Reservoir. The Uda Walawa Reservoir was built at 1963. The Ganga Nimna Sanwardana Mandalaya, Also called GANISAMA was done the project. Now it is the 3rd Biggest reservoir in Sri Lanka.
