The first season of the Tyler Perry's House of Payne began airing on June 6, 2007, and concluded on September 26, 2007. The season contained 37 episodes. Although this is the first season of the series, a set of 10 test episodes aired in the summer of 2006 on syndicated networks.

Summary
The first season of the show introduces Curtis and Ella Payne, and their extended family. Their son, Calvin, is a college student who never seems to live at school, eats at the Payne house, and has Ella do his laundry. C.J. is Curtis' nephew and he, his wife, Janine, and their two children, Malik and Jazmine, come to live in the Payne house after their house is destroyed in a fire. It is later discovered that Janine caused the fire and that she is addicted to drugs.
C.J. and the kids adjust to living with Curtis and Ella, while C.J. tries to put his marriage back together and get some help for Janine. Curtis also tries dealing with all the people constantly in his house.
