The Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan was founded in 1951. It was closed under president Saparmurat Niyazov, but was opened again with the instruction of his successor, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
Structure
The Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has the following functional structure. Three departments
- Humanitarian and economic sciences department;
- Physical and mathematical, chemical, geological and engineering sciences department;
- Medical, biological and agricultural sciences department.
The Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan is the state body which primary task is to ensure the practical realization of scientific and technical politics.
