Tukaraq is a town in the East of Sool region of Somalia, the town is located on the road between Las Anod and Garowe in Las Anod District. Tukaraq is inhabited by the Dhulbahante, Darod clan and various Dhulbahante sub-clans are represented in the town, unlike many other such towns in the Sool region. The town is currently controlled by Dhulbahante militia loyal to Puntland, it also temporarily functions as a border post for Puntland and Somaliland.[1]
