Trevor Haldenby is a Toronto-based futurist and speaker. He has spoken on the subject of experiential futurism at venues including TEDxOCAD,[1] innovaTV Conference,[2] Merging Media,[3] Digifest,[4] and Autodesk University where he received an Autodesk 2025 Innovation Award.[5] He has also spoken on the subject of new occupations expected to emerge in the future.[6][7][8]
In 2012, he co-founded consultancy firm The Mission Business, with inaugural project ZED.TO, an eight-month narrative that simulated a biological epidemic through theatre, live events and transmedia storytelling.[9][10] The firm's second project was Visitations, in conjunction with Drake Hotel (Toronto).[11]
He holds a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation from Ontario College of Art & Design, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University, and studied new media at the Canadian Film Centre. He is the dean of the Toronto chapter of the Awesome Foundation.[12]
