Tori Junction, station code TORI, is the railway station serving the city of Chandwa which is the connecting point of Latehar and Hazaribag districts. It also connects Lohardaga Station belongs to the East central Railway zone of the Indian Railway.
History
This is one of the junctions connecting Latehar and Hazaribag districts of Jharkhand. The ongoing construction work of Lohardaga-Tori railway line which section is falling under the South Eastern Railway (Ranchi Division) and East Central Railway (Dhanbad Division) jurisdictions, would be completed soon, said South Eastern Railway officials. Rail services would begin on this new line in October, 2016 they added.
The works for constructing guider on bridges have been started. The junior engineer of No 33 bridge said that on the bridge the work of guider setting has already been started in the watch of executive engineer Ajeet Singh Yadav.
Notably the distance between Lohardaga and Tori is 43 km. In November 2011, the railway services started up to Kamle that is 14 kilometres away from Lohardaga and falling between Tori and Lohardaga.
In remaining 15 km, the construction work is going on and there are one dozen of bridges in the route. The guider no 27, 33 and 42 is in Chandwa block. And from 27 and 33 the work of guider construction is going on in Kudu block. The work of guider no 29, 30, 31 and 32 has been completed.
The guider no 33 is the largest bridge of the railway route. There will also the guider be set up in Spain 11. It takes about one year to construct the line in 15 kilometre. the sleepers and the logs are being fetched to the line. It would be 106 KM less distance from Lohardaga to Delhi when the travel starts from Ranchi to Delhi via Lohardaga and Tori.
