Time in South Dakota
The eastern half of South Dakota lies in the Central Time Zone and the rest is in the Mountain Time Zone, as follows:
- Mountain Time Zone contains all of the counties who are entirely west of -101° (101°W) longitude, plus Corson County, Dewey County, and most of Stanley County.[1]
- Central Time Zone contains the rest of the state.
