Thierry Repentin (born 5 April 1963) is a French politician. He served as the Minister for European Affairs from 2013 to 2014.
Biography
Early life
Thierry Repentin was born on April 5, 1963 in Saint-Jean-de-la-Porte.[1][2] He was educated in Chambéry and graduated from the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies in Grenoble.[2]
Career
He worked as a parliamentary assistant to Jean-Pierre Cot.[2] He then worked as an assistant to Louis Besson when he was Mayor of Chambéry and later when he was Secretary of Housing under Lionel Jospin from 1997 to 2001.[2]
From 1995 to 2001, he served as Deputy Mayor of Chambéry.[2] Since 2008, he has served as Deputy Mayor of Sonnaz.[2]
He served as a member of the Senate of France, representing the Savoie department, from September 26, 2004 to July 21, 2012.[1] He is a member of the Socialist Party.[1] He served as the Minister for European Affairs from 2013 to 2014.[1]
