The Throes of Winter is an EP released by American DJ Seven Lions, released on March 3, 2015 through Casablanca Records.[1] Pre-order opened on January 27, 2015.[2] He was touring in support of the album by May 2015, with the tour organized by Donnie Disco and HTG.[3] Two songs were released a promo singles: "Lose Myself" and "A way to Say Goodbye."[4] A remix EP titled The Throes of Winter (Remixes) was released on May 26, 2015.[5] A music video for the track "A Way to Say Goodbye," featuring Sombear, was released on VEVO around the same time.[6]

The Throes of Winter peaked at No. 143 on the Billboard 200, No. 3 on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and No. 1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. It also reached No. 72 on the Top Album Sales chart.[7] Allmusic gave the album a positive review, saying it paired "emotionally charged singer/songwriter pop with hypnotic dubstep."[8] ArtistDirect named it their EP of the Week on June 26, 2015, calling it "visual and vibrant."[9]
