The Pink Side of Miss Daisy

The Pink Side of Miss Daisy is an instrumental guitar Top 10 hit, written and played by French award-winning guitarist Jean-Pierre Danel.

The tune is a tribute to the Pink Floyd and to Danel's scarce and famous 1954 preproduction Fender Stratocaster, Miss Daisy, on which the song is played. The name of the tune is a mix between the words "Pink Floyd", "The Dark Side of the Moon", one of their most famous albums, and the name of the guitar.

This 5 minutes and more track is also a tribute to the lyrical solos style of David Gilmour, and in the introduction, to Hank Marvin, both Gilmour's and Danel's guitar hero.

Recorded in Paris on April 16, 2008, the tune is an improvisation, only recorded once, that was filmed for the cd/DVD Top 20 hit "Guitar Connection 3". The DVD got Platinum in France.

The Pink Side of Miss Daisy single reached the #9 spot of the French single charts in August 2008 and the #29 spot of the European charts.[1] Five years after its original release, "The Pink Side of Miss Daisy" finds its way in the Billboard U.S. charts at #86.[2]
