The Outsider is an upcoming American action crime drama film directed by Martin Zandvliet and written by Andrew Baldwin. The film stars Jared Leto, Tadanobu Asano, Rory Cochrane, Shiori Kutsuna and Kippei Shiina.[1]
Plot
The story of a captive American soldier who is set free from prison with the help of his Yakuza cellmate. With this, he repays his debt of gratitude to the Yakuza in a way that will require him to maneuver in the world of criminals.

Production
Pre-production
Jared Leto was confirmed to join the cast on April 5, 2016. Tadanobu Asano was added to the cast on May 12. Rory Cochrane was confirmed to join the cast on November 16.
Filming
Principal photography began in October 2016, filming in Tokyo. Principal photography wrapped in December 2016.[6]
