The Ockendon Academy[1] (formerly The Ockendon School) is an academy school in South Ockendon, Essex. In April 2009, the school became designated as a Training School.
The Headteacher is Mrs Barbara King, who won an award for her leadership skills.
In August 2010, the school received the highest pass rate in its GCSE examinations to date, with 98% achieving A*-C grades.
On January 1st 2011 'The Ockendon School' was renamed to 'The Ockendon Academy'
The school was downgraded to good following an Ofsted inspection in February 2014.
