The Green Helmet (1957) is a novel by Australian author Jon Cleary.
Plot outline
The novel starts at France's 24-hour Le Mans race when British champion racing driver Greg Rafferty crashes his car. The plot then follows Rafferty as he continues to race while also concealing his fears.
Film adaptation
The novel was adapted into a film of the same name, in 1961. The adaptation was directed by Michael Forlong from a screenplay by Jon Cleary. It featured Bill Travers, Ed Begley and Sid James in the leading roles.[1]
