The Devil Made Me Do It is the debut album of militant Black nationalist rapper Paris. MTV banned the title track.[3] The 13-track vinyl record version of The Devil Made Me Do It was released in 1990 on Tommy Boy Records. Paris toured the USA and Europe that year to promote the record. The album eventually sold over 300,000 according to the emcee.[4] In 1996, the band Apparatus recorded a cover of the title-track for the electro-industrial various artists compilation Operation Beatbox.[5]
