Thampanoor is the geographic center (CBD) of the Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram. The major railway station of the state, Trivandrum Central, Railway Mail Service (RMS), the head office of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, the central bus station and many movie theatres and hotels are located here. It is administered by Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.
