Teck-Hua Ho is the Deputy President (Research and Technology) at the National University of Singapore.[1][2] Prior to that, he was the William Halford Jr. Family Professor of Marketing at the Haas School of Business (University of California, Berkeley).[3]

Education

Ho obtained a B.S. in electrical engineering in 1985 and an M.S. in computer and information sciences in 1989 from the National University of Singapore. Subsequently, he obtained an M.A. in 1991 and a Ph.D. in 1993 in decision sciences from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Career

Prior to becoming the Deputy President (Research and Technology), Ho was Vice President (Research Strategy) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also Tan Chin Tuan Centennial Professor[4] and professor of economics and marketing at the NUS Business School.[5] Ho also serves as Director of two research centers in the University: the Centre for Behavioural Economics[6] and the NUS Global Asia Institute.[7]

From 2002 to 2015, Ho was a professor at the Haas School of Business. At the School, he was the William Halford, Jr. Family Chair in Marketing and Director of the Asia Business Center.[8] While at the school, he won numerous awards, including the Williamson Award,[9] named for Nobel Prize winner and UC Berkeley faculty member, Oliver E. Williamson. He has also won the Berkeley Distinguished Teaching Award[10] and three Earl F. Cheit Awards for Excellence in Teaching.[11]

From 1997 to 2002, he was associate professor of marketing at the Wharton School. Prior to his time at the Wharton School, Ho was assistant professor of operations and technology management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Ho's research interests include behavioral game theory and alternatives to equilibrium models, behavioral change in the field, and data-driven decision sciences.[12]

He is the current editor-in-chief of Management Science,[13] a board member of the National University Health System[14] and the National Environment Agency,[15] and a Fellow at the Civil Service College Singapore.[16]
