Sweden Democrat Youth (Sverigedemokratisk Ungdom, SDU) was the youth league of the Swedish political party Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna) until 12 September 2015, when the party announced that they would break with the youth league.
The youth league was founded in 1993 as an independent youth league to its parent party. The original name was Sverigedemokraternas Ungdomsförbund, but the organization was soon renamed Sverigedemokratisk Ungdom. The youth league was for a time abandoned by the parent party, but was again formed as an independent organization in 1998.
On 1 October 2015, the Sweden Democrats founded a new youth league: Young Swedes SDU ("Ungsvenskarna SDU").[1][2]
