Statefields School Inc. (SSI) is a private, non-sectarian school located along the National Rd. in Molino III, Bacoor, Cavite.[1] It offers preschool, elementary, junior high school and senior high school education.

History

At the turn of the millennium, a school along the National Road in Molino III, Bacoor City, Cavite, chronicled its birth - Statefields School Inc. with Dr. Perla A. Zotomayor as founding principal.

The Hofileña family, known and respected in the field of real estate and construction, started realizing a vision on a one-hectare piece of land near Wood Estate Village II, a subdivision which the family developed. They envisioned a school that would be noted for its quality education. Through intensive marketing efforts, an unexpected turnout of 1,200 enrollees marked its phenomenal success and set the pace for others to follow.

Curriculum

Constant commitment to provide total quality education through the pursuit of academic excellence has helped Statefields School Inc. build its name. The school aims to develop life-long learners geared up for global competitiveness, thus, making them productive citizens of the country in particular, and the world in general.

It anchors its curriculum on Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences (Gardner, 1983); believing that intelligence covers not only linguistic and mathematical skills, but also naturalist, interpersonal, intrapersonal, spatial, musical and bodily kinesthetic intelligences. The school's curriculum blends the development of positive values among its learners, such as, faith in the creator, love for one's country, respect for self and others, discipline and orderliness, concern for others, integrity and honesty, productivity, responsibility and perseverance, and collaboration and commitment to one's work.

School Features

From the beginning, the founders recognized that providing state-of-the-art facilities would greatly complement its academic programs ensuring the quality education it promises to provide.

The school has three five-storey buildings, a large gymnasium and cutting-edge technology and modern facilities.

The school gymnasium, otherwise known as the Center for Bodily Kinesthetic, Spatial and Musical Intelligences, houses three rooms on each wing, as well as mezzanine floors on each side. It can accommodate a thousand spectators. There are open courts for basketball/ volleyball, badminton, and for native games, like piko and patintero.

The school has two computer laboratories, having updated computer models with LCD screens. It can accommodate 35 to 42 students with a computer-student ratio of 1:1, ensuring that each student is able to get a hand at technology.

It also has three science laboratories, namely, the Agapito Flores Laboratory for grade school students, Louis Pasteur Laboratory for Biology and Chemistry classes in high school, and Albert Einstein Laboratory for the Physical Sciences.

Another laboratory for the Home Economics and Technology and Livelihood Education classes, suitably named, is available for both the grade school and high school students. It has a cooking and baking area, and a sewing area, complete with appropriate utensils and equipment.

It also has a music room, aptly named Celerio Room, which is sound proof, and stores, 50 brass and wood wind instruments. High school students, as well as the members of the MuSSIco and Sforzando, the school concert band and the high school choir, use the Celerio Room as a learning and practice area.

Other laboratories include shop rooms for woodworking and electronics, a drafting room, art room, music room, and dance studio.

There are two multi-media centers which are fully equipped with high-tech equipment like wireless microphones system, LCD projectors, document cameras, and computers. These centers serve as venues for various school and subject area activities.

The Learning Resource Center (LRC), or the school library, contains a wide-array of print and non-print materials, reference materials, and instructional resources that students and teachers may use for classroom instruction. One area in the LRC is specifically allotted for the preschool students, in addition to the Preschool Mini-Library and MI Center located in the ground floor, to give them the opportunity to develop their love for reading even at an early age. It also has an Audio-Visual room where teachers and student can watch educational films and videos. The LRC utilizes user-friendly Follett Software for library automation, to help manage library resources better and ensure that all the library resources are made available to students and teachers. It also has two Online Public Access Computer (OPAC) units in the reading area that allow students and teachers to browse for books and authors. Likewise, four computer units are allotted for internet access and research.

All classrooms in the grade school and high school departments are equipped with a 32-inch LCD television that has home entertainment sen-surround system together with a DVD-player.

To address the growing needs of the learning community, the school has provided three Multi-Purpose Halls, and an open court for smaller assemblies, field demonstrations, Physical Education classes, and sports-related activities.

The school canteen is strategically located at the ground floor, between the school building and the gym. It is accessible to students in all levels, faculty and staff. It is equipped with child-friendly facilities to keep the students safe during recess and lunch. Satellite canteens or rolling stores are set up along the corridor of the grade 1 and 2 classrooms to make food accessible to the younger learners.

The school clinic offers free medical assistance, treatment and consultation for student, faculty and staff needing medical attention. It has eight beds for boys, ten beds for girls and two beds in the isolation room for patients with highly communicable diseases. The clinic is located at the ground floor of the Rizal building.

Safety First

While students are inside the campus, actively learning, the school management made sure that safety is a top concern. The school has built on and enforced the highest standards for safety and security, accompanied by strict policies and procedures that are implemented within the school campus. Among the school's safety features are its strict standards to maintain cleanliness throughout the school campus; the medical and security staff emergency preparedness and response; exit maps and sprinkler system strategically located all throughout the campus, and the physical padding of posts and corners along the stairways, corridors and play areas.

Management

To carry out its promise of academic excellence, the school’s founders, Mr. Felix Y. Hofileña, the School President and Ms. Lourdes Y. Hofileña, the School Vice-President, have carefully selected highly competent administrators to lead and guide the faculty in implementing the school curriculum, programs, and services. The management assigned the founding principal, Dr. Perla A. Zotomayor, to be the Academic Adviser to the President to help ensure that academic standards are maintained.

The Management Team is headed by Mr. Daniel O. Castillo, M.Ed, as Principal, Mr. Danilo J. Reyes as Administrative Officer, and Ms. Maria Rowena Martha N. Aligada as Finance Officer.

Other school officers assist them in school operations namely: Ms. Maria Teresita A. Guadarrama as Preschool and Elementary Vice Principal; Mr. Ulysses B. Dimatulac, M.A.Ed, as High School Vice Principal; Mr. Enrique A. Manalo as Prefect of Students; Ms. Mary Jane D. Ayapana, Prefect of Academic Services; and Ms. Katherine Anne H. They have carefully selected and extensively trained the faculty and staff who share their passion and commitment to deliver the school’s promise of quality education, through its MI-integrated curriculum, programs and services, the hallmark of Statefields education. It is of vital importance to that all the students receive the best possible education and care.
