Stacy Francis (born April 16, 1969) is an American singer and actress. She is best known for being a part of the girl group Ex Girlfriend and as a contestant in the first season of The X Factor USA. Francis has also made several television appearances on various shows. She also performed for Tom Cruise at his 40th birthday.[1]
Music career
1990-1999: Ex Girlfriend and Broadway
Francis was a part of an all female group called Ex Girlfriend. The members consisted of Monica Boyd, Julia Robertson, Tisha Hunter, and Stacy Francis. They were signed to Reprise Records and released two studio albums. The band disbanded in 1994.[2] Francis also originated the role of Rusty in the Broadway musical Footloose as well as several other shows [3]
2000-2008: Acting career
After the disbanding of Ex Girlfriend Francis appeared in many films and TV shows, including Phil of the Future, The Parkers, Half & Half and Third Watch.
2011: The X Factor
In July 2008, the members of Ex Girlfriend decided to reunite for a new album and signed with Full Force records. In 2011, Francis auditioned for the first season of The X Factor USA in front of judges L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell. She sang Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and received four yeses. At the beginning of bootcamp, she revealed that her father had just died.[4] She made it through bootcamp and to judges' houses, where she was mentored by Nicole Scherzinger. She was eliminated in week 4 after ending up in the bottom 2 with Astro. Stacy also has a vocal range of 5 octaves.

2015-present: The Stacy Francis Show
In February 2015, Francis began her own talk show "The Stacy Francis Show". The episodes are uploaded via the show's YouTube account.[5] She also joined the cast of the TVOne series R&B Divas: Los Angeles.[6]
Personal life
Francis is the daughter of an Italian American father and African American mother. She has two children. At her X Factor audition, she said that in her early 30s, she had been in a bad relationship with somebody who apparently abused her, and who "kept telling [her] that [she] wasn't talented enough" and "[she] started believing it" and then lost her self-confidence.[7] After that, she met the father of her first child.
