St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Colwyn Bay
St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church is on Conway Road, Colwyn Bay, in Conwy County Borough, Wales. It a Roman Catholic church and is the parish church of Colwyn Bay, part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Wrexham.[1] The Church also has a catholic volunatary aided primary school, which is on the grounds of the church on Brackley Avenue, its current head teacher is Mr J. Wilkinson.[2]
History
St. Joseph's church was designed by R Curran, building began in 1898 and was completed in 1900. Monsignor James Lennon from Lancashire donated the money to build the church, in memory of his late brother, Dean John Lennon.[3]
The adjoining primary school was opened in 1933.[4]
