St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Mangerton Street, Toogoolawah, Queensland, Australia, was designed by diocesan architect Robin Dods and built entirely of wood by local builder D. A. Menzies at a cost of £839 in 1912.^[1] It featured a shingle roof, a hand carved altar^[2] and a choir stall screen and was described at the time as "a welcome advance in the church architecture of this district".^[1] The Anglican Church Chronicle^[3] reported that "The treatment is original and effective and proves that the possibilities in connection with the architecture of wooden buildings are wider in extent than is commonly supposed." In the details of its listing on the Queensland Heritage Register^[4] eighty year later, it was described as "an excellent example of the ecclesiastical work of Brisbane architect Robin Smith Dods."

St. Andrew's was dedicated by Archbishop St Clair Donaldson (Archbishop of Brisbane) on 12 May 1912.^[5]

This church was built on land given by the family of J. H. McConnel, who were personal friends of Archbishop Donaldson, and the original building had no buttresses. In February 1913^[6] it was reported that, "St Andrew's Anglican Church was severely strained and put out of plumb by a very severe windstorm last week-end. The roof and superstructure only appear to have suffered." Garden fetes^[7] raised money and tenders for repairs were called in April 1913.^[8] By August^[9] it was reported that these repairs included buttressing the church, and these buttresses have been a feature of this church since that time.

In 1925^[10] the St Andrew's Rectory was built for £1008 by a local contractor and it was formally opened and blessed by Bishop Le Fanu on 10 July 1925. Like the Church and the St Andrew's Church Hall it was entered on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992.^[11] It is described there as a good example of an intact 1920s weatherboard Queensland house and has been the home of the rector of the Toogoolawah, and later the amalgamated Brisbane Valley, Parish since it was built.

The original stables beside the church were removed in 1978 to relocate the Anglican Church Hall there^[12] and this building was also entered on the Qld. Heritage Register.^[13]

The Church received the baptismal font from Archbishop Donaldson's private chapel at Bishopsbourne as a gift before its dedication, and now has many stained glass windows. St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Toogoolawah, celebrated a hundred years of service on 12 May 2012^[14] where Rob Nolan, Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Brisbane and Bishop of the Western Region, conducted the centenary service.
