South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad (reporting mark SKOL) is a short line railroad which operates 511 miles (822 km) of rail lines in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri that used to belong to Missouri Pacific, Frisco and Santa Fe lines. SKOL is a unit of Watco Companies. The present railroad was created in July 2000, when WATCO merged one short line railroad, the Southeast Kansas Railroad (SEKR), with another short line, the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad. SKOL was the surviving company.[1]

Rail lines of the present SKOL include:[1]

  1. Tulsa, OK to Humboldt, KS,
  2. Cherryvale to Oxford, KS,
  3. Cherryvale to Sherwin, KS to Liberal, MO,
  4. Cherryvale to Coffeyville, KS,
  5. Sherwin to Columbus, KS,
  6. Owasso, OK to Catoosa, OK.

The only part of the former SEKR system that still operates is Sherwin, KS to Liberal, MO.[1]

SKOL was honored as Regional Railroad of the Year for 2008 by rail industry magazine Railway Age.[2]
